Chris White is the principal bass of the Virginia Symphony. He studied at the University of Rhode Island and the Manhattan School of Music. In 1996, he earned a spot in the New World
Symphony in Miami under Michael Tilson Thomas, playing co-principal. He teaches double bass at Old Dominion University and the Governor's School for the Arts and performs each summer with the Grant Park orchestra in Chicago.
